Here we have my fourth Bollywood Actress Hub.

Indian film actress and model Shilpa Shetty was born on June 8th, 1975 in Mangalore, India.
She has not only appeared in Bollywood films, but Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films as well.
Shilpa's younger sister Shamita Shetty is a Bollywood film actress also.
Her native language is Tulu, but she also speaks English, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi, Tamil, Gujarati, Telugu, Urdu and basic French.
Shilpa stared out modeling in 1991 at the age of sixteen, and made her film debut in 1993 in the Indian Hindi film, Baazigar.
Baazigar was based on the novel of the same name written by Ira Levin, and had been made as a movie twice before by Hollywood. Once in 1956 and again in 1991.
She has gone on to appear in an amazing fifty films since 1993. (well, amazing to me at least)
She appeared on the 2007 edition of Celebrity Big Brother UK, and despite controversy, she emerged with her dignity intact.
But Big Brother wasn't the only rocky bit for Shilpa as also in 2007 she was involved in the Richard Gere "kissing incident" where Gere kissed her on the cheek several times during an AIDS-awareness event (Shilpa is very much involved in  HIV-AIDS awareness in India).
The incident lead to riots in the street (yes riots) and an arrest warrant was actually issued for Shetty and Gere's arrest by an Indian court in Rajasthan.
The legal action was suspended by the Indian Supreme Court and later the Chief Justice of India, KG Balakrishnan put an end to the situation.
Shilpa has three upcoming Bollywood movies, Forever, Kaanch - The Broken Glass and The Man.

In 2000 she made her acting debut in Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai. Ameesha was nominated for the Filmfare Best Female Debut Award for her role as Sonia Saxena, but she lost out to Kareena Kapoor.
